The device was used in Soviet institutes and laboratories for measure and experiments after the second world war. The device has a historical and practical value. Good condition, the device can be used in current moment, very good quality. For changes resistance you can to move bakelite handle on the body of the device to the left and to the right. Material of the wire may be Manganin, Nichrome or other alloys with high resistivity (we can not make an accurate analysis). The resistance full wire of the Rheostat is 63 Ohm. Current 22 A. We did a approximately measurement and calculations for the device:
340 turns of vintage wire;
the diameter of the tube for the wound wire 61 mm;
length of the wire - 66 m;
the resistance of the rheostat - 63-68 Ohm;
the resistance of one meter of wire - 1.07 Ohm;
diameter of wire - 0.7 mm.
The rheostat was stored for a long period of time in a warehouse and has perfect condition for it age (age 59 years!). We wait any your questions before purchase!
